How to Help

You can get involved in Maps for All.

Help spread the word and advance the mission.

Submit your picture.

·         Join a growing number of people sharing photos of world maps they’ve seen in the community. Post a picture of a map at your business or organization, or that you see while traveling around town. Email your photo to mapsforallCT@gmail.com

Get a world map.

·         Check out our resources page or contact Maps for All and we’ll share suggestions on how to get a world map. Post it in a prominent place - and generate conversation.

We can help you to participate.

We can:

  • Offer instructions and programs to develop connections between maps and issues; to increase geographic understanding.

  • Speak at your event.

  • Provide maps to display at your business, organization, restaurant, or facility! (see below)

  • Invite you to create a world map, in conjunction with a specific map host. [Artists, please contact us!]

  • Gratefully accept your donation in support of the Maps for All initiative.

Businesses & Organizations

A world map in your business location not only advances the geographic knowledge of your employees and customers, it becomes an attraction and conversation starter. A map designed by a local artist also provides an opportunity to support the arts in the community.

Restaurants & Markets / Artists

Maps for All is currently seeking area restaurants and markets with an interest in connecting with a local artist to create an original custom-made world map that would be displayed as part of the restaurants’ decor. Such a map could highlight the country of origin of the restaurant or market’s specialty (i.e. a restaurant specializing in Brazilian food, or Indian, or Thai, or Italian, etc.) The artwork would serve not only to help customers connect the delicious food with geographic location, it could also become a visual attraction - perfect for social media and online conversation. If your restaurant or market is interested in learning more, please contact us.

Surely, restaurants have had significant challenges during the past two years due to COVID-19 restrictions. As we move forward in 2022, and hopefully a return to a more normal time, perhaps world maps will help show the way to local restaurants, and beyond. Perhaps local artists, who have also struggled, will help to show the way.

Nonprofit Organizations

Many local nonprofit organizations support people grappling with challenging circumstances in nations throughout the world. Highlight the geography of your nonprofit organization and the meaningful work it advances. Illustrate where in the world your organization functions, with a prominent map in your local office.

Schools and Libraries

World maps in schools and libraries across Connecticut provide opportunities for individuals of every age - and every geography - to get a glimpse of how the world connects beyond their community. If your school or library is lacking a world map in a prominent location, urge them to get on board!
